Bikini

Bikini is another popular picture trick where you create a shape from the string that looks like a pair of swimwear. The trick consists of two parts – the lower and upper part of the bikini – and focuses mainly on correct string placement and hand control.

How to do the lower part of Bikini

Start with a solid Sleeper. Grab the string approximately halfway down with your left hand and hold it firmly. Make sure the remaining string leading towards your middle finger stays loose – this will help you create the correct shape.

How to finish the Bikini shape

Take the loose string and move it from right to left underneath your hand, around the stretched string, then catch it again at the same point. This creates a triangle shape, which forms the lower part of the bikini. Hold both sides of the triangle with your hands, then move the yoyo through the strings to create the upper part. Finally, release the shape and wind the yoyo back up.

Which yoyo should you start with?

The best choice for beginners is a responsive yoyo – a yoyo for beginners that automatically returns with a tug. You don’t need to worry about complicated tricks or techniques yet – just focus on throwing, spinning, and bringing the yoyo back.

Features of responsive yoyos

  • Simple and intuitive control
  • Returns with a classic tug
  • Reliable and durable construction
