Wrist Mount + Dismount

Wrist Mount

Again, Wrist Mount is not a completely separate trick, but it is a mount, i.e. a position from which you can start many other tricks. You get into it in a similar way to Double or Nothing, but you do not make the second turn (the one around the right hand) over your finger, but around your right wrist. Now you have a triangle between your right and left hands. Continue moving and turn the yoyo around your left index finger so that you hit the triangle and the string that leads from the yoyo at the same time.

Wrist Mount Dismount

Zdenda Hýbl will also teach you the most common way to get out of Wrist Mount. Start with Wrist Mount, insert your finger between the two lower strings and throw the yoyo onto a separate string, continue moving your finger in the same direction, but this time grab both strings with your finger, but point the yoyo only at the one closer to you. If you did the Dismount correctly, after releasing the strings from your right hand and the farther string from your left hand, you should be in the trapeze.

Which yoyo should you use for advanced tricks?

For advanced tricks, an unresponsive yoyo is the best choice. Unlike beginner yoyos it does not come back on a tug – it returns with a trick called the Bind. Thanks to that it can spin much longer and handle more difficult tricks.

Features of unresponsive yoyos

  • Long spin time (Sleeper)
  • Higher stability and performance
  • Yoyo returns with the Bind trick
  • Great for competitions
