Robert “Rob” Kučera
Rob’s yoyo journey did not start with a video on the internet, but with pure curiosity. Back in the days before YouTube existed, he and his cousin discovered the term “ball-bearing yoyo” online. They had no idea what it actually meant, so they decided to buy one for each other. For his birthday, Rob received his very first yoyo – the legendary Lyn Fury by YoYoJam. That curiosity quickly turned into a lifelong passion that has stayed with him for many years.
Throughout his rich yoyo journey, Rob has been part of several important brands. He started with the Czech brand DOT by Kuba Kroutil, then spent many years building and representing the Barely Legal project together with Zdeněk Hýbl, before eventually joining the global giant YoYoFactory. Throughout all these years, he has also been an inseparable part of the SLUSNY team, where he remains one of its key figures to this day.
Today, what Rob enjoys most about yoyoing is the pure Yoyo n Chill style – simply throwing for fun and enjoying the moment – as well as creating big yoyo exhibitions for audiences. He has a very strong and honest opinion about the modern competitive scene. The current trend of chasing the highest possible number of clicks does not appeal to him. He feels that originality and unique styles are disappearing, leading to situations where audiences often see very similar freestyles from different players, only performed to different music. Because of this, he prefers the classic battle format, where there is more space for creativity and a true show.
Outside of yoyoing, Rob is an incredibly versatile person with a wide range of interests. Both professionally and personally, he is involved in hosting and event production, so he is impossible to miss at events. He balances his energy through mindfulness and his deep passion for tea, which is one of his biggest hobbies.
