What is the YoYoFactory Response Pad?

The YoYoFactory Response Pad is a very important part of every yoyo. These are circular pads placed around the bearing that allow the yoyo to return back to your hand. Over time, they wear out and need to be replaced. Simply peel them off like a sticker and apply a new pad. These pads fit all YoYoFactory yoyos and the vast majority of yoyos from other brands as well. If you're not sure, contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

Pad properties vary depending on the color:

White pads:
These are standard YYF pads that come pre-installed in most YoYoFactory yoyos. They are universal pads suitable for all types and styles of yoyoing.

Red pads:
These are competition pads. They break in very quickly and reach optimal response fast. However, they wear out faster and need to be replaced more often. Ideal for competition use – they “warm up” within minutes so you can go straight into your freestyle.

Yellow and pink pads:
Also known as “The Consistent Pads”. These offer long-lasting and consistent performance. From start to near the end of their lifespan, they maintain the same response and spin feel. In our opinion, perfect for long home sessions.

Blue pads:
Also called “The Grippy Pads”. They take longer to break in from their initial state. If you like strong response, powerful spin, and solid bind control, blue is the right choice for you.

Natural/Brown pads:
Also known as “The Marathon Pad”. According to the manufacturer, these last the longest. Surprisingly, they also break in quickly and reach an optimal response level fast. We recommend them for yoyos you carry everywhere and want maximum performance with minimal maintenance.

Green pads:
These are thicker than other pads, making them very responsive. They are ideal for responsive yoyos such as One, Arrow, or DV888.
