Czech Yoyo Cup: Prague 2026 – The Season Kicks Off in Style 🎉
Last weekend (April 18–19), the new yoyo season officially started with the first regional contest – Czech Yoyo Cup: Prague 2026. And this time, it felt a bit different than usual. Instead of the typical theater setting (as is common for yoyo contests), the event took place at the children's festival Bezva Fest Pod střechou in Letňany, Prague.
We attend Bezva Fest every year with our booth all around the Czech Republic, so it was awesome to see other yoyers there this time and connect these two worlds together.
A Packed Saturday Full of Divisions
The event was exceptionally held over two days, with a really packed schedule. Saturday featured Tricklist, Junior, X Division, and also the 1A Pro Freestyle prelims. The venue was absolutely crowded – packed wall to wall with people.
There wasn’t much space for practice, but on the other hand, hundreds of festival visitors got to enjoy the performances right in front of the stage, which created an amazing atmosphere.
Sunday: Finals and Surprises
Sunday brought the highlights – the 1A Pro Freestyle finals and the first round of the brand-new Yoyo Battle division. And it definitely delivered. Right from the start, we saw several surprising moments.
For example, when favorite Michael Malík didn’t make it through. He was defeated by Pavel Kucherov, who impressed not only with stylish combos but also with a funny dinosaur costume 🦖.
It’s also worth mentioning the international presence. In the main division, we saw Attila Nagy from Hungary and Ye Chan Kim from Korea, which added even more prestige to the contest.
