McBride Roller Coaster

How to land the McBride combo in one throw

The McBride Roller Coaster is an intermediate combo by Mark McBride. At first, the combo may seem very long and you will have trouble doing it in one throw, but if you throw the yoyo hard and keep practicing the combo, you will find that it is completely doable.

Start with Around the World and go straight to 1.5 mount, from there simply throw the yoyo back and let the yoyo fly all the way to "Brother".

Then back to Double Or Nothing, let go of the first string from your right hand and spin the yoyo out once, you will get into the trapeze, now put your right finger in the trapeze eye and spin the yoyo two full turns to the right. Let go of everything from your right hand and spin the yoyo two full turns to the left, this will get you back into the trapeze and you can bind. Congratulations, you have just mastered the McBride Roller Coaster.

Which yoyo should you use for advanced tricks?

For advanced tricks, an unresponsive yoyo is the best choice. Unlike beginner yoyos it does not come back on a tug – it returns with a trick called the Bind. Thanks to that it can spin much longer and handle more difficult tricks.

Features of unresponsive yoyos

  • Long spin time (Sleeper)
  • Higher stability and performance
  • Yoyo returns with the Bind trick
  • Great for competitions
