Maurus started yoyoing in 2019 thanks to his mother, who wanted to buy him a simple yoyo for his birthday but accidentally chose his first 1A model instead – the YoYoFactory Boss. After some initial confusion, they discovered that Prague had a specialized yoyo shop called SLUSNY. They visited the store for the first time during the following summer holidays, and Maurus has never stopped yoyoing since.

Not long after starting, Maurus began uploading yoyo videos on Instagram, which led him to his first sponsor, Ace-Yo, after only a year and a half. Two years later, he joined the SLUSNY Youngsters team (although he jokingly says he was already a little too old for a "youngster" at that point). In November 2025, he parted ways with Ace-Yo and currently does not have a main sponsor, but that could soon change.

Maurus has achieved impressive results on the German yoyo scene. Although his main style is classic 1A, he has shown great versatility by winning the German National Championship in the 5A division with a counterweight. When it comes to hardware, his current favorite yoyo remains the Acronym.
