Matouš started yoyoing in September 2010, when Vašek Kroutil opened the very first yoyo classes in Prague at the Zahrada Cultural Centre. He already knew Vašek before that and received his very first yoyo from him as a gift. The yoyo he remembers the most, however, was the legendary YoYoFactory Supernova, which he spent countless hours practicing with. At the classes, he found a great group of friends, and yoyoing quickly became his biggest passion.

From the very beginning, Vašek Kroutil was his biggest inspiration. Matouš dreamed of becoming a member of Team SLUSNY and Team YoYoFactory, which eventually became a reality. What he has always loved most about yoyoing is the community – thanks to it, he met friends he is still in touch with today. After experiencing the atmosphere of a competitive stage for the first time, he knew this was something he wanted to pursue.

Through yoyoing, he has traveled to many countries, gained valuable work experience, and helped organize numerous competitions and events. His involvement in yoyo events eventually led him to his current career at OKTAGON MMA, where he works on the production and organization of major sporting events.

Combat sports are also a major passion of his outside of work. In 2025, he stepped into the cage for his first amateur MMA fight, which pushed him far beyond his comfort zone but became an unforgettable and rewarding experience. In his free time, he enjoys running, working out, playing tennis or golf. In the past, he also spent a lot of time riding pump tracks with friends. When he wants to truly relax, he heads to his mountain cabin, enjoys a great bowl of Pho Bo, or shares a draft Pilsner with friends.
