Kateřina "Kačka" Halíková discovered yoyoing in the autumn of 2019 at the age of ten after watching Tomonari Ishiguro (BLACK) perform in a TED Talk on YouTube. Her very first yo-yo was the YoYoFactory ONE. Although the COVID-19 pandemic began shortly afterwards, it gave her something invaluable—plenty of time to practice. By the spring of 2020, yoyoing had become her biggest passion. She received her first support package from SLUSNY and, thanks to Veronika Kamenská, soon joined Team AceYo.

Her competitive career took off quickly. She won the Junior division at the Czech Yoyo Cup in Brno and the Czech National Championship, then claimed the Junior European Championship title the following year. These results earned her a place on Team Recess, where she spent almost two years before joining the newly founded W1LD in 2024 under the leadership of Chen Yang.

Today, Kačka is proud to represent W1LD, one of the strongest brands in competitive yoyoing. Besides competing, she also helps the company with European distribution and can often be found running the W1LD booth at international contests. She also works closely with the Polish string brand Taste by Jakub Pladera.

What she enjoys most about yoyoing is competition, constantly improving her skills, and having the freedom to express her creativity through freestyles and technical tricks. Thanks to the international yoyo community, she became fluent in English, made friends all over the world, and had the opportunity to travel to the United States and Canada for the 2024 World Yo-Yo Contest.

When she is not practicing or studying at a Czech-French high school, she enjoys sports of all kinds. She regularly runs—including orienteering—cycles, and spends much of the winter skiing and cross-country skiing in the mountains.
