Gyroscopic Flop

Gyroscopic Flop is a very fun trick and it is also one of the tricks that will get every viewer, and it is not at all complicated.

How to start

Start in Houdini Mount and put the yoyo in the loops of strings between your left thumb and right index finger – you will create a Houdini Drop.

Spinning it and getting back

Then throw the yoyo slightly into the air and at the same time towards yourself, finally grab the strings with your whole palms and slowly pull away from you, and the yoyo will start to rotate. Remember that after turning the yoyo one full turn, the direction of rotation of the yoyo will change and you need to bind from the other side than you are used to with the Trapeze.

Which yoyo should you use for advanced tricks?

For advanced tricks, an unresponsive yoyo is the best choice. Unlike beginner yoyos it does not come back on a tug – it returns with a trick called the Bind. Thanks to that it can spin much longer and handle more difficult tricks.

Features of unresponsive yoyos

  • Long spin time (Sleeper)
  • Higher stability and performance
  • Yoyo returns with the Bind trick
  • Great for competitions
